Equipment pad
Pool Automation and Lights
Automation systems and most pool lights, including Pentair architectural series fixtures.
Chapter 01
One controller for the pump, the lights and the schedule
An automation system puts the pump, the lights and the run schedules behind a single controller, so nobody has to walk out to the pad and flip a switch for each one. Tony installs and services automation on Pentair, Jandy and Hayward equipment for pools across Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and Carefree.
What an owner gains is a pool that runs on a plan. The pump comes on when it should and rests when it should, the lights follow a schedule instead of a habit, and the times can be changed with the seasons rather than left where the last person set them.
Because the controller ties the equipment together, it also gives the weekly visit one more thing to look at. Tony's crew checks the equipment for leaks and damage every week, and the controller is part of that walk-through.

Most pool lights, including Pentair architectural series
Lakeside replaces and repairs most pool lights. That covers a fixture that has gone dark, one that flickers, and one that has taken on water behind the lens. Lakeside's own Instagram shows Pentair architectural series pool lights going in on North Valley pools.
The right fixture depends on the pool, not just the catalog. The niche in the wall, the length of cord available and the brand already on the pad all decide what fits, so the first step is looking at what is in the water now.
Chapter 03
What gets checked before a light swap
Before a fixture comes out, the power to it is shut off and confirmed off. Nothing gets pulled from the niche until that is done, because a pool light is a wet, electrical part of the pool and that step is not optional.
Then the niche, the cord and the fixture each get a look. The niche is checked for corrosion and standing water, the cord for brittleness and for enough length to reach the deck, and the old fixture for what failed, since a light that keeps going out may be telling you about the wiring and not the bulb.
Only after that does the new fixture go in and the schedule get set. Questions about a light or a controller go straight to Tony at (480) 363-6158, ROC 350584.
